Our conversation in church a couple of weeks ago:

Sarah:Mom can I take my shoes off?
Me: Why?
Sarah:Because they hurt.
Me: OK

A few minutes later...

Sarah:Mom get these tights off of me.
Me:Why?
Sarah:Cuz there bossin me around

(I took off the tights and she went to nursery bare-footed)

A few days ago I put some of Sarahs footie jammies on her before bed. She was screaming that the feet were bugging her, so I thought of a quick fix to avoid the problem and cut the feet off of the jammies. She soon started going crazy again...

Me:Sarah what is wrong with your jammies-I cut the feet off....
Sarah:There bossin my butt around
(I guess they were giving her a wedgie)

I guess my clothes boss me around sometimes too, but I don't feel at liberty to rip them off.

Happy Birthday Sis

I just couldn't pass up giving a shout out to my sis cal for her b-day. We had a great time spending the evening with her at the Cheesecake Factory (especially because three of our children were with the babysitter). It is so nice to live close to one another. I know that is something not to be taken for granted. There is just a comfort in knowing that family is near, even if it is just one other. I love you so much little sis. You look beautiful by the way and I can't wait to come over and try out your new flat iron.

How hot is my man at 35!! Happy Late Birthday Honey I Love you So Much. We Celebrated his special day Nov. 11. I made the yummiest homeade german chocolate cake and I have to say it was the best one I've ever made. He loved it. I won't go off to much since I just honored him on our anniversary, but he is the best.

I say maxi beacause he kind of looks feminine in this picture. I am sorry Ryan, Calli picked the shirt out. This is what happens to little boys who spill paint all over their clothes , their mom locks herself out of the house, and you have to borrow clothes from your cousin--who happens to be a girl.

10 Wonderful Years

Oct. 30 was our 10 yr. anniversary. My how time does fly. I can't believe that I have been married for that long. It doesn't seem that long ago I was standing out by a campfire dancing to some country song with my favorite guy just before he popped the question. Now 4 children , 3 houses, 4 family vehicles, many trucks, numerous dogs,a few wrinkles, several pounds, thousands of kisses, and millions of wonderful memories later.....we celebrate our 10th. I have the most wonderful man in the world to thank for my happiness over these past years and although I complain when he hunts I couldn't have picked a better guy. I love him so much. He is the reason I wake up happy and ready to face the world. He is the best father to our four wonderful children and is always willing to take on any task in or out of the house (even if its not at the exact moment I want it done). He has passed on some of his wonderful traits to our little ones and has shared with me his wonderful family. He is so great with my family and I love the easy going nature that he exudes. He rocks when it comes to playing any game-he may not always win, but he sure makes playing the game alot more fun. He is a bad looser and will freely admit it. He loves anything in the outdoors and I've never known anyone who is so grateful for all the beauty that lies there. He loves beautiful sunsets and sunrises and a big moon puts a smile on his face. We enjoy the sound and smell of rain together and it is in moments like these that I am so grateful for the companionship of such a wonderful person.

We went and ate at Tepanyaki while our gracious sisters babysat and afterward he surprised me with this beautiful picture of the temple that I have been eyeing up for about a year. What a wonderful gift to remind us of where all this started. He also gave me a very funny card.

I on the other hand was kind of a slacker when it came to the gift this year. On the way to drop off the kids at my sisters we had to stop and get some medicine. I offered to run in and get it so that I could also get him a card. I also had an idea for a gift which in all my rush to prepare for the upcoming Halloween dinner I had failed to do. The traditional gift for 10 yrs is tin or aluminum. I grabbed 100 dollars which I wanted in 10 tens (it kind of souds like tin-get it) to celebrate 10 yrs. No one in the check out lines had 10s so I had to give him 2 50's. In my desparation to still fill the traditional gift I also grabbed a tin of tangerine altoids. Anyway, my gift was such a dud compared to what he had done. This is another reason why I love this man. Next year we are not throwing a party on Halloween I decided--it interferes with our anniversary too much. We will have a party the week before or something. With his money he bought this....

Halloween Dinner Party

I don't know what is going on with my slide show, but just hit the button that says view all images and once you get there hit original view and it should come up. Sorry i don't know why it wouldn't post right. Anyway the party was a blast and I wish I had got more pics of my yard and stuff cause I kind of went all out with a whole graveyard, strobe lights, scary sounds, and dry ice. It was pretty cool until it started to rain and the trick or treaters really slowed down. Thanks to Calli for all her help in putting together and carrying out this shin dig and to Debbie for helping with the food. Also a big thanks to everyone for dressing up even if you didn't want to-I think it made it so much more fun. One more shout out to my new friends Matt, Krista, Rylin, and Dexter--thanks for braving all the strangers and coming anyway. Calli has some great neighbors.

10/20 Family Night Pumpkin Carving

A Very Belated Birthday Dig

One of the things Seth wanted for his birthday clear back in March was to go on a Trilobite Dig down in Delta. We put it off all spring, then all summer, and then finally when I called they said they close on Oct. 30. We decided we better get down there soon, so on Oct. 18th Ryan once again stepped up to the plate and took the boys on the 31/2 hr drive down to Delta without me or the baby or Sarah. ( I would have just had to sit there with them in the middle of the rocks for 2 hrs. because there is nothing else around. ) Seth had the time of his life and I think Ry and Easton had fun too. They found lots of fossils and said it was really cool. If your kids are into fossils this is a great place to go. They give you a hammer and a bucket and send you out into the massive area of rocks where you pound away and collect as many as you want. It is called U-Dig and they have a website if you are ever interested. Once again the boys had a great time just hangin out with Dad, so although he hunts quite a bit, he did a really great job this fall of also spending some quality time with the kids which not only makes them happy, but also puts a smile on my face.

Oh yeah-thanks for being so patient Seth.Sorry it took so long.

Relief Society Retreat

So, it's been a while, but I went to part of the Relief Society Retreat. about a month ago and it was so nice. I was due for a break from all the kids (including the baby) and even though it was only a couple of hours it was so refreshing. We were on a plane and had crashed ( kind of like LOST) in these pictures. The bishopric participated as the pilots of the plane, and they were so funny. One of them was also the dr. who just happened to be a passenger. Anyway, the food was great and so was the program. The sisters of our ward are wonderful and fun to be around. When I returned, Ryan had been feeding Cole rice cereal. As great as it was to see him feeding the baby, they sure were messy. I told him you cant feed a 5 month old facing away from you.

At least he's happy-right!!!

Like Father Like Sons

So, the next weekend after Ryans hunt he promised to take the boys on the elk hunt. The weather was going to be cold and rainy, so I decided it wouldn't be too fun just sitting in the trailor with an infant and a 3 yr old. It was a boys only weekend. (and I really wanted to watch conference in peace and quiet). Ry took them down to SF canyon on Friday night and they roasted hot dogs and s'mores with their cousins and aunt Melissa. The next morning they went out to try and find an elk, but because of the rain were only able to hunt for a few hours. The boys didn't care though. They had a blast just hiking around and spending time with their dad. (his buddy Shane did go back out to WY and got a deer this weekend also, but Ry didn't go because he had already given his word to the boys and I probably would have thrown a fit had he gone out again) It was really fun to see ry take the boys out by himself and just enjoy the outdoors together. I am hoping as they get older there will be many more father sons trips. I think every boy needs that.

Montana Here They Come

Ry left to go bird hunting about 12hrs. away in Montana on Oct. 9-Oct.12th or 13th (I cant remember). I think they are psycho to drive that far just to shoot birds. The worst part was that he wasnt going to go so that I could go to my super saturday, but then when I told him the choice was his--he of course decided to go.








Oh well, I just picked up my projects to do at home and my sis in law and neices came for a visit. That made the thought of staying home another weekend alone alot more bareable. Christine and her kids and Calli and Max all came and had a sleep-over. My kids loved it and although it was bad weather, we found things to do. The kids loved making little spiders and bats for Halloween and enjoyed eachothers company. All in all the weekend turned out great even though my honey was once again out with the guys.

What a blessing

On Oct. 12 my little nephew, Maxwell, was blessed. It is always such a sweet and spiritual occassion.He just has such a sweet spirit about him and two wonderful parents who are doing such a great job with all of the obsacles that come with having a baby-especially your first. I am also so lucky that he and Cole are so close in age. I'm sure they will be great little buddies. We had so much fun visiting with family and taking pics. The food was delicious and Dani was so nice to host. We love you Trish, Cody and little Max.

Cole Laughs Hard-September 25, 2008

Cole has been laughing for quite some time now, but this is the first time he had laughed this hard for this long. Seth was quite proud that he was the one to make him do it. What a joy!!

Ryans Big Hunt Finally Arrives

I've never seen so much preparation go into one hunt, but this year Ry went all out for his Wyoming deer hunt. He and his buddy took previous trips to pack in and bury food, he bought all kinds of "packing in" gear and special camo in case of bad weather. I was so ready for this one to come (and go) after hearing about nothing else for months. They took off for eight days and had a great time despite many hours of hard hiking and uncomfortable nights on the hard ground. Although they did not bring home a deer, I think the time away was good.

I've crossed back over to the Dark Side

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a big fan of self-tanner. I used to lay out and go to tanning beds, but after dr.s found malignant melanoma in one of my moms moles (and the fear of aging), i started using these self darkeners more and more. I don't spend a ton of time out in the sun unless I am working out in the yard or on a family outing and so I don't have a lot of natural color. About a month ago I ran out of tanner and decided to leave it at that and just be white and delightsome. After convincing myself I looked alright every morning for about 3 weeks, I came to the conclusion that I was indeed white, but not so much delightsome. While strolling through the store I spotted a beautiful old friend just calling out to me and in my weakness I broke down and put it in my cart. Needless to say it felt so good to once again cross over to the dark side.

Twinkle Twinkle I found my Star

Just thought I'd tell you about a product I came across and LOVE!! Big Star Jeans. Orig. $98 jeans that you can get at downeast for 29.99. They fit great and wash up nice. Love, Love, Love that I can feel comfortable in a pair of jeans right now (having quite a bit extra hip and tummy fluff left over from the pregnancy).

Me: When you get married
Sarah: Why do I have to get married first
Me: Cuz your baby needs a daddy
Sarah: Then I want Cole to be "my babys daddy"

2 days ago......
Easton had bugged dad to go out and play football with him all day. Finally they went out and made up some plays. He was so excited. When he came in he said....
The best thing in my life is about to happen
Me: What is that
Easton: I am going to find a leprechaun and make a wish to be a Jedi

(don't ask -- I have no idea)

Yesterday when I picked sarah up from preschool....
Me: How was school today?
Sarah: Well I was crying
Me: Why
Sarah: Well I was on the red with a sad face
Me: Did you do something wrong or bad?
Sarah: Well (she starts everything with well), I was just talking too much
Me: (knowing she had never really been in a setting where she couldn't talk) You can't talk when the teacher is trying to teach you stuff
Sarah: Oh, ok.

This morning on the ride to school.....
Easton: Mom did you know when bears scratch tree bark they are marking their territory
Me: Yeah-thats pretty cool huh
Easton: Yeah, and Seth remember when you were in first grade and a coyote came down and scratched part of the hop scotch off the ground (at your school)
Seth: They wouldn't come all the way down here and not even attack anyone
Easton: Yes it did-I remember
(Easton would have been a whole 4 years old when seth was in first grade so I'm sure he remembers)
